Dear Friends. Sous Chef got a private pizza cooking lesson in Berkeley’s legendary restaurant Jupiter. It has been our favorite place during the year to dinner with our kids, and with all the friends visiting us from Finland. Our teacher was the head chef Miles Kline who brought his lovely children cooking together with us.
Head chef Miles shows to our sous chefs how to mold the real Jupiter style pizza crust.
Stretch it. Pat it. We didn’t use the rolling pin. It wasn’t necessary ’cause…
…the real pizza cook makes it this way. Ok, Miles’ style may take some time from us to learn.
We got a chance to learn how to make our all time favorites on Jupiter’s menu. The first filling in both of them was grated cheese.
This one is going to be Mercury, Margherita style pizza with tomatoes, garlic and basil.
Miles’ own sous chefs made their favorite pizza with some tomato sauce in it.
This is how Mercury looks like after baking. Looks delicious, but even better soon with some basil on it.
And the winner is… Circe! California style combination of cheese, scallions, butter, garlic, shrimps, and a hint of chili.
Sometimes words aren’t enough. Thank you, Jupiter. Thank you, Miles, and all the others there! You made our year in Berkeley an unforgettable culinary experience. We will miss you, and will share the best moments in our coming cookbook.
